When she glanced at the screen, it didn’t look too well for Fleura at all—she had the strongest motive, means and opportunity. Her fingerprints were on the murder weapon.

“Okay, so we’ve got the motives, but what about the means?” Katie said, leaning over Dana’s shoulder looking at the computer screen.

“Well, that’s just it. Madge was on the set with me the whole time—after she’d seen the chef in his dressing room.”

“But did she leave him alive?”

“I don’t know. She told the cops that.”

“And what about Holly?”

“That’s it. She was on set the whole time, too.”

“And Kris?”

“Apparently, he must have had an alibi because Troy...Detective Troy mentioned that Fleura was the only one who had prints on the weapon and a motive and the opportunity.”

“Well, there you have it, girl. Your killer is already behind bars.”

“Katie. I don’t think it’s that easy.”

“Nothing is ever easy to you, is it, cuz?” she said with a grin.

“That’s always been my weakness and my strength,” Dana admitted.

Dana then made a note for herself to Google each person and see what she could find online that could help the case or prove her instincts right about Fleura not having anything to do with the murder.

“I’m stumped.”

“Why? Is your overthinking getting in the way again, cuz?” Katie asked innocently.

Dana grinned and rolled her eyes.

“No. And yes. Madge mentioned a case against the chef.” Dana clicked on a few screens and went to his home page. “His office is in Toronto. It’s just an hour’s drive from here. I need to know more about the lawsuit against the reality show and the chef. Maybe there’s something there.”

“Like what? What do you hope to find?”

“I don’t know yet,” Dana said, blowing a puff of air to move her bangs off her face. “I just don’t know.”

Will this be the one case that she would never figure out?
